- Understand and acknowledge the histories, heritages, languages and cultures of partners to Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
- Practise and develop the use of te reo and tikanga Māori.

May 2019 Tokorangi Marae Visit
As a school, we visited Tokorangi Marae. We participated in a powhiri and a range of activities including a history lesson about the marae, matariki, sketching, rakau, poi, haka and relays.
My class and I had a wonderful time and spent the day completely engaged. The range of activities were fun and the class chatted about them on their arrival back to school. It was so neat to be part of this day and to have the opportuinity to build relationships within our community and with our local families and iwi.
